I first applied for a Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Scholarship as my chapters Founders Award nominee and was selected for the L. Pearl Green Scholarship for my senior year. Following my one year as an ELC I attended law school and received the ELC Scholarship for grad school. I was very honored to receive funding for the Foundation both as a graduate and undergraduate. It was truly an honor to know that Theta supported m in my scholastic pursuits.
The financial support of the Foundation through their donors opens doors and opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to pursue. The Theta Foundation had made my dreams possible as I have pursued advanced education to make me competitive in my field and become a knowledgeable professional in the non-profit sector.
I was giving my time in service to the Foundation because of the gratitude I had for what it did for me and what it can do for others. Everyone can be involved. Just the simple task of making an annual gift has a tremendous impact.
