Founders Memorial Scholarships
These four prestigious scholarships were established in honor of Kappa Alpha Theta’s four founders: Bettie Locke Hamilton, Alice Allen Brant, Bettie Tipton Lindsey, and Hannah Fitch Shaw.
Award amount: $12,000 each
Awarded to: Four collegian Thetas in their junior year. Each recipient is matched with the founder with whom she shares similar characteristics.
Many collegiate and alumnae chapters have established endowed funds with Theta Foundation for scholarships designated for their members. With the help of alumna Suzie Sterling King, the Gamma Phi Chapter at Texas Tech established a scholarship, which is awarded to one of the chapter’s undergraduates or alumnae.

Awarded to: Collegian or alumnae members of Gamma Phi/Texas Tech who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Marjorie Crane Schnacke Memorial Scholarship
Current and former Fraternity officers Lissa Lutton Bradford (Alpha Eta/Vanderbilt), Helen Edwards Woodward (Alpha Omicron/Oklahoma), and Nancy Kassebaum Baker (Kappa/Kansas), established this Foundation scholarship in loving memory of Marjorie Crane Schnacke (Kappa/Kansas) to honor her years of service as a loyal Theta volunteer.

Awarded to: Collegian or alumnae members of Kappa/Kansas or with a permanent address in Kansas who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Joyce Anne Vitelli Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Joyce Anne Vitelli (Chi/Syracuse) by her loving husband who wished to honor Joyce’s love of Theta, as well as her devotion to her work as chairman of Theta Foundation’s scholarship committee.

Awarded to: Collegian or alumnae members who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Additional criteria: Preference may be given to those majoring in music or fine arts.
Ellen Bowers Hofstead Scholarship
One of Theta Foundation’s oldest scholarships, the Hofstead Scholarship was established by the Alpha Eta Chapter at Vanderbilt and the Nashville Alumnae Chapter to honor Ellen Bowers Hofstead (Alpha Eta/Vanderbilt) and her commitment to Panhellenic and Interfraternal issues and interests.
Award amount: Varies
Awarded to: Sophomore or junior collegian members who will pursue an undergraduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
Additional criteria: Recipients must demonstrate the true meaning of Panhellenic spirit in some capacity.
