Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Announces 2010-2012 Board of Trustees

The Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation Board of Trustees announces the members and officers of the 2010-2012 Board of Trustees:
 
President – Kathleen Bennett Tonkel (Eta/Michigan)
Vice-President – Jill Pedicord Peterson (Beta Gamma/Colorado State)
Secretary – Kim Harvey Looney (Delta Pi/Tennessee)
Emily Weirich Bandera (Beta/Indiana)
Mary Ellen Kutsenda Fitzsimonds (Beta Kappa/Drake)
Victoria Laughlin McCluggage (Omicron/Southern California)
Dinah Hampton McClymonds (Alpha Omicron/Oklahoma)
Lisa Davis Olney (Delta Epsilon/Arizona State)
Elizabeth M. Prosser (Alpha Omicron/Oklahoma)
Lyn Stewart Simensen (Gamma Gamma/Rollins)
 
The 2008-2010 Board of Trustees and Officers will serve through June 27, 2010, the final day of Kappa Alpha Theta Grand Convention. The 2010-2012 Board of Trustees will begin service June 28, 2010 and will be installed in a ceremony during the Theta Foundation Luncheon at Grand Convention.
 
The new slate was approved at the April 24 and 25 meeting of the 2008-2010 Board of Trustees in Indianapolis, Ind. Wendy Sears Goshert (Gamma/Butler) and Lisa Edelmann McLaughlin (Beta Rho/Duke) will retire from the Board. Six Trustees will return for the new term. Four new Trustees were elected:
 
Emily Weirich Bandera, MD, MBA is pleased that her recent retirement from medical practice will allow more time for active participation in Theta activities and to give back to the organization which has meant so much to her for many years. Emily is a 1951 Beta initiate and currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 
 
Mary Ellen Kutsenda Fitzsimonds is the retiring Grand Council Vice President Alumnae and has served Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity at the local and international level, including four years as an Ex-Officio Trustee in her VP Alumnae role.  She is active with Girl and Boy Scouts, Evanston Township High School PTSA, Boosters Club and College Career Center.  She is a 1986 Beta Kappa initiate and graduated from Drake University with a BS in Pharmacy. She has a daughter who is a Theta at TCU.
 
Victoria Laughlin McCluggage has served as a college chapter advisor for 30 years and is a former Foundation Trustee returning for service. She was the past Pasadena Alumnae Chapter President, a University of Southern California support group officer, and Los Angeles Philharmonic Board member.  Vicki is a 1973 Omicron initiate. She is married to Kerry McCluggage, a television and film executive, and member of the Sigma Chi Foundation Board.  They reside in Southern California and have daughter who is a Theta at USC.
 
Lisa Davis Olney is a former public relations professional, who recently switched her career to the field of member relations. She credits her new career choice to her alumnae work with Kappa Alpha Theta, and looks forward to continuing her support of the Fraternity and the Foundation in a variety ways.  Lisa is a 1990 Delta Epsilon initiate. She and her husband, Buster, reside in Westchester County, New York and have two children.
 
The Theta Foundation Board of Trustees thanks the 2010 Nominating Committee for their service and commitment in the selection of the 2010-2012 Board of Trustees: Lisa Edelmann McLaughlin (Beta Rho/Duke), retiring Theta Foundation Trustee and Nominating Committee Chair; Amy Hayner Kates (Alpha Phi/Tulane), Fraternity Vice President College; Deborah Bornmann Allen (Delta Theta/Univ. of Florida), retiring Fraternity Vice President Education and former Theta Foundation Trustee; and Laurie McGregor Connor (Gamma deuteron/Ohio Wesleyan), former Theta Foundation Trustee.
