April is here, and the Theta Foundation is excited because it is Foundation Awareness Month! In celebration of all of the individual Thetas that make our work possible, we are asking you to spread the word about the Theta Foundation by becoming Foundation advocates. We can’t continue to help Thetas through scholarships, educational and leadership grants, and the Friendship Fund without your support! Here’s how you can help:

EDUCATE: The Alumnae and Foundation Liaison in each college chapter and an officer from each alumnae chapter should present a chapter education piece on the Theta Foundation at your first chapter meeting in April. The Foundation website can help you prepare for this presentation. Be sure to check out the OUR Story section. We’ve created a PowerPoint presentation that you can use as a part of your chapter education piece and placed it under Resources. The OUR Story section also has information to help you prepare including: Foundation history; information on the difference between the Fraternity and Foundation; an introduction to the Foundation trustees and headquarters staff; informational hand outs; and online copies of our most recent Foundation Publication issues. You will also find stories from scholarship, grant, and Friendship Fund recipients to use in your presentation in the YOUR stories section of the website.

GIVE: Individuals can donate to the Theta Foundation easily and conveniently in a number of ways. Click on the GIVE button to find out how to mail in, call in, or submit a gift using our online donation page. Your chapter can donate to the Theta Foundation, too! Include the Foundation as a beneficiary of your signature philanthropy event or create a fundraising event exclusively for the Foundation. Get creative! Many chapters have developed fun ways to raise money for the Theta Foundation to support their sisters. You can find the Foundation chapter donation form in the GIVE section under “Ways to Give>Give by Mail.”

RECEIVE: The Theta Foundation provides scholarship, leadership and educational grants, and Friendship fund gifts to collegians and alumnae throughout the year. Chapters also receive grants for various leadership and educational opportunities. Click on the RECEIVE button to find out about how you or your chapter can be the beneficiary of these programs and how to apply, then be sure to spread the word to your chapter members!

SHARE: Does your chapter fundraise for the Foundation? Have you or a friend received a scholarship, grant, or Friendship Fund gift from the Foundation? Has your chapter received a grant to hold a great event on campus or for your chapter members? Why do you donate personally to the Foundation? We’d love to hear about your involvement with the Foundation – You be come an advocate by sharing your story. Click on the SHARE button. Submit your story and a picture online, and you or your chapter could be featured on the Foundation website or in our next publication!
